	Plea for Support for the Rebuilding of Rev. Adams Church We are working with Deltec Homes and Barker Homes to rebuild the Holy Ground Baptist Church in the Lower 9th Ward. Construction site issues and labor & material donations must be finalized before erecting Deltec's hurricane-resistant structure. Fundraising for Site Acquisition While we are developing a comprehensive project budget, we are tryin to raise funds for acquisition of a suitable building site. Less << More >> Global Hope Hits the Open Road Global Hope volunteer Dave Wisbrock, of Wisbrock Roofing in Westmont, is an avid motorcyclist. Inspired by his experience on our January Service trip, Dave is combining his love of riding with a desire to continue his philanthropic work. Dave and his friends from the American Legion Post 80 in Downers Grove are organizing the Flag Day Ride for Global Hope. The Ride will be held Saturday, June 14th, 2008. There will be a Post-Ride Party at the American Legion Post 80, 4200 Saratoga, Downers Grove, from 1 to 4 pm, featuring music by Triangle Green and Joe Kelly (formerly of The Shadows of the Night). You don't need to ride to enjoy the day - Stop by the party, grab some food and hear some great Blues! Proceeds from this much-anticipated event will help to rebuild the first church and community center in the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans. Here is a flyer for the event... Fewer details << More details >> We're Walking to Defeat ALS We will join over 100,000 people across the country on June 7th in the Walk to Defeat ALS. Here's a flyer with information about our ALS walk group. Here's a link to the ALS Association web site with more information about the nationwide walk. Aja and her Mom Raise $5000 for Global Hope Between them, Aja (left) and her mother raised nearly $5000 for Global Hope... Aja raising an amazing $800 by selling pencils at her school, and her mother by having a benefit garage sale. Here is a newspaper article and video about their fundraising efforts... Our April 2008 Service Trip to New Orleans From April 10 - 18 2008 a group of 30 volunteers were in New Orleans' Lower 9th Ward doing construction work on the homes of Wanda and William Johnson, Dolores Cager, Herbert & Lydia Gettridge and Vicky Taylor.
