In September 2006, Global Hope hosted a fundraiser. Our mission was to raise enough money to build a preschool in rural Vietnam. The goal was to provide accessible education to those children who had difficulty traveling to distant schools and who, as a result, simply could not attend.
Under the auspices of Room to Read, a non- profit organization working to provide access to education for children of the developing world, Global Hope raised $24,000 – more than enough to build a school. This donation was matched by in-country community and governmental sources and groundbreaking occurred in July 2007.
The school opened its door in December 2007, consisting of two classrooms, providing education for 62 students. We are proud of our community of volunteers who donated both time and money to create this opportunity for education complete with all of the modern amenities – electricity, indoor plumbing and a fenced playground.
Another example of the far reaching effects of our ever-expanding Global Hope spirit.
