Global Hope “let the sun shine in” once again! The well- worn Prentiss Creek Resource Center in Downers Grove, IL, where approximately thirty children receive after school tutoring, homework help and adult care, was literally and lovingly transformed to a colorful wonderland.
In January 2009, nearly forty Global Hope volunteers worked tirelessly to update the appearance and function of the dingy 2500 square foot facility. Throughout two consecutive weekends, volunteers cleaned, organized, replenished book, game and art supplies, painted the walls and enhanced each room with cheerful murals. Tim Salman of No Name Painters in Downers Grove, was kind enough to offer his services along with his invaluable expertise. Thanks to Global Hope, the facility’s new look and feel inspires all who enter.
