On April 10, 2008, Global Hope volunteers continued rehab in the Lower Ninth Ward. First on the list; some major roof repair was in order on a 1949 owner-built home along with replacement of front and back porch railings, salvaging wrought iron gates by repairing, welding and painting, and refurbishing the property’s surrounding fence. Thanks to the efforts of Global Hope, this homeowner would remain eligible for homeowner’s insurance.
Moving on, subsequent location challenges included foundational crack repair, fascia replacement, major structural improvements and external fix-up from reattaching shutters to painting damaged siding.
Another successful venture – more smiling faces.
